Men are always complaining that girls are too clingy, but some guys are just as guilty. Have you ever dated someone who was way too into you way too fast? Carrie did and it is a “relationship” she will never forget.

Too Fast Too Soon

Carrie met Ryan through some friends. He seemed like a fun guy. He loved to hang out with people she hung out with and he always made her laugh. It also didn’t hurt that she felt a connection between them. They had been just hanging out with their friends about a month before they actually made a real date.

Before the date ever came around she started to realize something was not right. One of their mutual friends called her one day with the news that she had heard Ryan was now her boyfriend. Carrie asked where she heard that and her friend replied that Ryan had told her. After a few more calls to other mutual friends, Carrie found out Ryan had told everyone that they were a couple now. Carrie figured that Ryan was just misunderstanding their relationship and that it was no big deal.

From Bad To Worse

Unfortunately, Carrie soon found out it was a big deal. Their first date ended up being his family reunion where Ryan proceeded to tell everyone they were a couple and that they were even considering marriage. Carrie was appalled. She had only known him for a month and this was their first date. She felt blindsided.

The date went even more wrong when they went back to his house, where Carrie felt the alone time would allow her to explain she was not his girlfriend. That wasn’t to happen, though. Ryan had other plans. He had it all set up for them to spend some quality time watching his porn. Seriously?! Porn?! What was he thinking?

Carrie abandoned all hope of trying to fix this and she left right away, telling him they were done and she never wanted to see him again. He just looked shocked, but he did leave her alone after that.

nline Dating stories are often filled with tales about people who are not what they say they are. It is so easy to make up a false image online that many people do it thinking that it will be overlooked when they meet someone in person. However, as the following story shows, some things simply cannot be overlooked.

Mr. Late

Shelly had found a guy online who she really clicked with. She was super excited to go out with him on their first real date. They were both theater buffs so they went to the movies on their date. She was a little taken back when they first met since he looked nothing like his profile picture, but he was not bad. She was fine with it. She understood the pictures people put on their profiles are ones they look the best in and many times they are much different in person. She knew she didn’t look much like her picture either.

His looks were not the thing that started the date off bad. It was the fact that he was late, so they missed the start of their movie and had to settle for a loud action flick instead. Shelly wasn’t too happy about this.

Mr. Nose Picker

As they sat in the theater she was just hoping for the movie to end so they could go get coffee and talk. She glanced over at him and that is when the whole date went sour. Right when she looked his way she saw him pick his nose and wipe it on the arm of the seat. She about lost it. From that point on all she could think about was how to get out of this date.

Shelly managed to fake being sick and ran as fast as she could away from Mr. Nose Picker, but not before he stole an umbrella someone had laid down to give her since it was pouring rain. Shelly was good humored about it and she laughed it off, thankful that she could simply block him online and not have to deal with him again.

When you post an online personal ad you are really opening yourself up for some crazy replies, but most women know this. You think you have done good weeding through the guys who are not your type or who are just plain weird, but sometimes you can never tell. That is why it is always nest to proceed with caution, at least until you get through the first date.

She Did Her Homework…

Angie thought she found a good catch when a guy responded to her personal ad with a nice note and gorgeous picture. She was cautious. They exchanged some emails and even talked on the phone a few times. She even Googled him just to see if what he was saying was for real. She got a couple hits on him from the 1980s, but nothing bad, so she agreed to go out when he asked her.

Angie let him set up the date and was rather disheartened when he suggested they meet up for lunch at Denny’s. Oh, well, we are in a recession, she thought. It is more about how we get along than how much money he spends.

… But Dismissed What She Found

When they met up she almost didn’t know who he was since he looked nothing like his picture. He was balding and about 30 years older than his picture. Turns out they didn’t have much to talk about either. They shared no common interests and it seems everything they had talked about before was just an act. The worst part was that when the bill came he asked her for her half.

Angie was not impressed and she told him straight off that she felt lied to and that she would rather go home than continue with the date. Poor Angie! Those Google hits from the 1980s should have been a clue that he was not what he claimed to be. Good lesson: Never dismiss what you find out from an internet search.

There are numerous dating stories about people being set up by friends because it is common to think that your friends know you the best so if they set you up with someone then things should be good. Right? Wrong. In most cases these dates can be just as bad as the rest. Sometimes your friends don’t know you as well as you might think.

Perfect Guy Just Not For Her

Take Kammy, for instance. Her best friend Denise swore she had the perfect guy to set her up with. She just knew they would hit it off. Kammy trusted Denise, who she has known since they were five, so she agreed to the date.

Kammy met up with Brian at a sports bar and grill, which was not bad, but not the kind of classy place she hoped for. That was not the bad part, though. Once Brian opened his mouth she realized that Denise must not know her at all.

What Was Her Friend Thinking?

This guy wanted to have 10 kids. Kammy wanted none. He wanted her to stay home and take care of the kids. Kammy has a career that she has worked hard to be successful at. These things were not the deal breaker, though. The deal breaker was when he told her what he did for a living. Turns out Brian is the owner of a slaughterhouse. Kammy is a strict vegan who has active membership in PETA. To make things worse, Brian is an avid hunter and he even suggested she come take a look at the ten point buck head he had stuffed and mounted on his wall at home.

Needless to say, Kammy and Brian parted ways quickly and that was the end. When she talked to Denise about the date she couldn’t help but ask what the heck was she thinking? Denise swore she didn’t know all those things about Brian and that she was so sorry. That didn’t matter much since from that point on Denise never set Kammy up on another date.

It’s always nice to have a man pamper you and be willing to spend his hard earned cash on you, but some guys take it too far. The first date is the time for getting to know each other, not a time to create yourself some eye candy. Guess this guy didn’t get the memo.

Lexus, Perfect Smile, Designer Cloths

Randy thought he was cool. He met me for our date by pulling up outside the restaurant in his Lexus, flashing his perfect smile and sporting designer duds. I felt a little intimidated since I am more of a middle class gal. However, I was impressed. I was glad his online profile wasn’t a lie. He did have money and he was good looking.

We ended up having a great dinner. We had good conversation without those awkward silent moments we all dread on a date. He paid for the check with no problem too. After dinner he said he wanted to go dancing, so I was up for it since dinner went so good.

Dolled Up To Show Off

We got in his car and I realized we were not driving in the direction of the clubs. I started to get nervous and asked where we were going. He said he didn’t much care for the clubs in this town, that we were going to fly to NYC in his private plane.

I was not really into this and started to object. He then started saying how he was going to buy me a new dress, get me some jewels and some Jimmy Choo shoes. He actually made the statement that I needed to get “dolled up to roll with him because he wants a girl he can show off.” This really turned me off. Maybe the girls he’s used to dating would love to be showered with gifts and “dolled up”, but that isn’t me and I was really offended. I told him to take me home immediately.

Thankfully, he listened to me, but he wasn’t too happy. All the way to my house he was droning on about how I had no class and how I should be happy a guy wants to buy me “pretty new things”. I couldn’t wait to get out of that car and bid that loser farewell forever.

Even guys have bad dates. Here is a great story about a culture clash that just could not be ignored and was the ultimate deal breaker for one poor guy.

He Meets A Beautiful Girl

Jessie met this really beautiful, Iranian woman at school. She seemed like a modern woman. She was born and raised in the states and she spoke without even a hint of an accent. She didn’t dress in the traditional Muslim attire, so he figured she was simply of Iranian descent and that there would be no culture clash.

He was really excited when she agreed to go out with him. She was very hot, nice legs, big eyes and a smile that was enough to blow you away. Jessie thought it would be an amazing date. What he didn’t know was his dream date with his Iranian princess was not going to be anywhere near amazing.

The Chaperones Came Along

It started out with the chaperones. Her brothers came along to serve as supervisors to ensure their sister’s virtue was not compromised. Then as they got into the date, which he had hoped would be something different and exciting – windsurfing – she sat on the shore and just watched.

The ultimate deal breaker came at dinner when her brothers sat between them and proceeded to dominate the conversation, instead of just letting Jessie and her talk. Jessie figured at this rate he would never even get to know the girl well enough to see if he liked her or not.

Poor Jessie’s dream of dating an Iranian hottie were not to be realized. He left the date feeling pretty down. Basically he had just dated her brothers instead of her. It was nothing at all like he had hoped and he quickly learned that culture clashes are something you cannot ignore.
