A jealous girlfriend will not want to hear about your ex girlfriends.  She will be content to think that she is the only girl you have ever been with or even looked at.  She will get upset if your ex is talked about or even referred to.

Does she hate when you are with your friends?

You may think she is just being sweet and that she wants to spend time with you because she loves you.  You may even be tricked into believing that she simply cannot stand to be apart.  The truth is that she is jealous of your friends.  She cannot stand the idea of anyone else getting any of your time.  This may even transcend into problems with her not wanting you to go anywhere or do anything without her.

She overacts when you even glance at another woman.

If your girl completely has a break down when you even accidentally look at another women then you have a problem.  Women usually don’t like it when you are staring at other women and blatantly checking them out, but a simple glance is nothing to get all worked up over.  It is a warning sign.

Does she keep constant tabs on where you are, who you are with and what you are doing?

If she must know everything about you at all times then this is a problem.  There is a difference between a text message sent when you are out to just say hi and text messages every 10 minutes.  A girl that cannot be away from you without going crazy is a jealous woman.

• If you decide that jealousy is an issue then you must react right away.  You should talk to her about it.  Get to the heart of her issues.  Often a woman is jealous because she has been cheated on before or has trust issues.

• Don’t dismiss warning signs.  Do not just let things go in hopes the jealousy will go away.  It never does.  It will only get worse.

• Understand that jealous is really insecurity.  Instead of acting insecure you is projecting that insecurity onto you in the form of jealousy.

• Left alone, jealous will grow.  It is best to handle it early on in a relationship especially if you want to continue the relationship.  If it is too much to deal with then break it off now before jealousy turns into dangerous stalking.

Sometimes, even though you are not actually doing anything, you can give the impression that you are.  Things you do that seem harmless to you may be making her think something is up and fueling her jealousy.  Here are 5 things that you might be doing to make her jealous:

1. Flirting with other girls. Showing too much attention to other girls, even if it is innocent, can make her feel insecure.  Don’t flirt with anyone but her and make sure that you definitely don’t flirt in front of her.

2. Putting her down. Don’t put her down or make suggestions about her improving herself.  There are many ways you can do this.  You may not actually be telling her that she needs to lose weight.  When you make comments about a hot TV star she can hear that you think she needs to look like that.  Think before you speak.  Consider if she could take it the wrong way.

3. Playing it too cool.  You can take it too far with playing it cool.  You may not want to constantly talk all lovey dovey, but you really should make sure she knows how you feel.  Reassure her often that you care, even if you just do it in small ways.

4. Not noticing what is happening in her life.  Sometimes jealousy comes from something that is happening in her life.  Be there for her.  Realize that every now and then, you are not the one making her feel jealous.

5. Not telling her what’s going on with you. You may have something that’s taking up all your attention at the moment, but you haven’t shared it with her. Because of that, she’s probably feeling ignored and thinking you are not interested in her anymore.

Come To Grip With Your Jealousy

If you want this relationship to work out you have to come to grips with why you are feeling this way.  You cannot blame those guys.  For all you know they really are innocent in their feelings for her.  Look at the situation.

How do you react when she talks to one of them or when she is around one of them?  Do you get all possessive and clingy?  This tells her that you don’t like her friendship with this guy and kind of forces her into secretive behavior.  She will start hiding her contact with her guy friends because she doesn’t want you to get jealous and upset.  In her mind she is protecting you.

What’s going on in your mind?  You probably see the secretive behavior as suspicious.  This really gets you going, doesn’t it?

Stop!  Just for a minute stop and look at reality.

Does your girlfriend love you?  Has she done anything else that would make you think she is unhappy being with you?  If not, then chill out.  You need to focus on your relationship with her.  Make sure it is solid.

When you can feel secure in your relationship you won’t feel jealous.  So, it all comes down to the fact that if you feel jealous then your relationship is not strong and needs some work.  Stop worrying about her guy friends and start building your relationship.  That will keep the green eyed monster at bay and make you feel so much better.
