“I love you” is a phrase that is very meaningful. It is something that you should never say to a woman unless you really mean it. In a relationship, you have to be aware that she is going to put a lot of weight into your words, especially if you say those three little words.

Throwing It Around

Even if you are the type of guy who is always telling everyone that you love them, it is not the same when you say it to a woman. Simply put. You can tell your friends, your family, whoever, that you love them, but don’t tell a woman if you do not mean it.

You cannot throw the phrase “I love you” around with a woman who may not really know what your true feelings are. She is probably already confused about how you really feel. She may already be questioning if you do have deep feelings. Once you say “I love you”, you have taken a step forward and there is no going back without someone getting hurt.

How She Feels

When you say “I love you”, she may react in different ways. Some women will take it to heart and be overly excited. She may say it back. This woman believes that you really mean. If you suddenly take it back because you didn’t mean it then you will break her heart.

Other women may be scared off. If you say it early in a relationship, she may get the wrong idea about you. She may start to think that you are getting too serious too fast. This type of woman may actually leave and end the relationship.

As you can see, saying “I love you” when you don’t mean it has consequences. You need to be careful with these three words. They are not something you just say. Always say “I love you” with meaning.

There comes a point in every relationship where you have to figure out what your future will be. You have to make that choice whether you want to move forward and consider marriage or if you are better off trying to find a new girlfriend. When that point comes in your relationship you may know the answer right off the bat. For some of you, though, there may still be questions. Here’s some advice on how you can figure out just what the next step should be.

Are you Happy?

You really have to decide if you are happy in this relationship. Does she make you smile when you see her? Do you still want to be around her? Could you imagine being with her for the rest of your life? If you cannot figure out what your feelings are then it may be time to really think over your relationship. You may need to work more on your relationship or this may be the time to end things. If she truly makes you happy then you should not have a doubt in your mind.

Are your Feelings Real?

Are you really in love or are you just playing a role? Too many times in a relationship we tend to just stick with it because it is familiar. We end up in a slump where we are just so used to being with her that we don’t think about how we really feel anymore. You need to make sure that those feelings of love are still real and still there.

Does She Still Love You?

You also have to consider her feelings. Is she still into you? You need to think about how you interact. Think about how she treats you. Make sure that she is still in this relationship.

If you can say you are in love and you really want to be with this woman and she wants to be with you then it may just be the time to go ring shopping. Otherwise, you may need to do more work or simply end things.

Some days, you could just tell me “Hey Woman, Yes, you there, come here and be my wife” and just take me away. Done deal! Ok, I’ve watched a lot of Western Movies, I admit, but don’t you agree that would make things a little bit easier? I still think they had it great back then.

The Day You Propose Is Special For Her

But the day you propose is not just some day. it’s one of the most important day for her, especially if she’s going to say yes. Which is exactly why you want to get it just right. The Bachelor may have gotten away with proposing wrong twice but you might not be that lucky.

So, what do you say to propose to your girlfriend? I am sure you’ve heard a lot about the romanticism (is that a word?) of the moment and a lot of great things and not so great as well on how to propose. In my opinion, keep it simple, to the point and, most importantly, real.

Yes, keep what you say real. Sure it should be a magical and memorable moment, but true magic comes from being true to her and to you. In that moment, emotions are what make the moment magical. And the more genuine your emotions, the more magical the moment for her.

You’ll Get It Right To The Degree You Know Her

Now, if you are too focused on finding the perfect line, you will be everything but truthful and some of those overused lines actually sound funny (really). Here’s a tip; the more you really know her, the easier it is for you to know what to say. So before you propose, take the time and do your home work. Find out again, as if you just met her, what she likes, dislikes, expects, does not expect; what will surprise her positively, negatively.

Find out what she knows of you, thinks of you, whether you like what you learn or not. The more information you collect, the easier it will be for you to come up with her perfect proposal scenario and you will be so real and true because you know her so well.

Another homework you definitely want to do before proposing is make sure she wants to be proposed to … by you. But that’s a different blog.
